NEW PEOPLE POLL QUESTION:
I've been known to spoil my two dogs Dudley and
Daisy. I love them so much that I often have
George put the phone to their ear so I can talk to
them!!! I would love to know what's the craziest
thing you've done with your pet? Please e-mail me your
opinion and suggestions at linda@lindalanci.com!
People Poll Question: My
friend is potty training her son and would love some
advice. I remember using cheerios with both my
boys! It was great target practice and a game for
them. Are there any techniques, training books or
songs you've used that have worked for potty
training? Also, which sex do you think is easier
to train, boys or girls? Please e-mail me your opinion
and suggestions at linda@lindalanci.com!
Honestly, I know many have different
ideas and incentives but in my experience with my son
and daughter they are either ready or not. My son
trained the day after he turned 3 and had maybe 2-3
accidents and that is all. i tried when he was 2 1/2
and he had no interest or just wasn't physically
ready. After a week or so I gave up. I never used
food or presents as an incentive. Just telling him
that is what "big boys'" do was enough for him. He
completely day and night trained at the same
time. Now, my daughter was a bit different. She
completely trained herself with number #2 when she
was a little over two years old. I never thought
to try to train her because at that age my son
wouldn't have been close to ready. Number #1 training
she needed a little "push" from me but like her
brother she had very few accidents. She was trained
for number #1 sometime between 2 1/2 and 3 years old.
Now, night training took a lot longer. She just
turned 6 last week and became night trained at 5 1/2
years old.
So, I guess my son was a little
easier but I didn't really need any
incentives as far as food, treats, etc. I know
friends of ours gave their kids Hershey's Kisses
every time they used the potty.
Good luck and trust me. If they aren't
ready don't make it a struggle. It will just
backfire on you.
